Thank You Cana Girl Scout Troop 410!
This year GS Troop 410 had earned their Silver Award by participating in a spay/neuter program in their town Cana, VA. With the money they had raised, through fundraising and contributions, they had helped 6 families spay/neuter their pet and supply them with pet food.
On Friday August 17th the girls held a pet event for children at the Mount Airy Library . Topics included Wildlife, Pet Responsibility & Pet Obediance. Troop Leader Sheila Sizemore had end the morning with a story.

Carolina Canine Rescue currently has 10 teens actively involved in our programs. This group is an excellent way to learn more about animals, get involved with the community and meet new friends with similar interests. Some of the activies the kids do are:
- Help Spay/Neuter Transport and Registration
- Assist in adoptions and fosters
- Fundraising Events
- Walking and Caring for the Dogs at Adopt-a-thons
- Online Video Adoptions on Youtube
If you are interested in participating please contact us at
Ages 16 and younger must be present with an adult. This is also a great project for Scouts and High School Seniors who need community service hours for credit, reference and experience.
Carolina Canine Rescue Youth Recognition
Our newest teen volunteer, 6th grader Brandon Wilbur, worked both the Patterson Adopt-a-thon and the Canine Spring Fling. This picture-perfect photo, showing off ‘Precious’, made front page of the Mount Airy News.
James Snyder, 7th grader, plays with ‘Moon-Pie’.
Both Pups received interest and and adoption applications submitted not long after.
Allie Haskins, Age 15, Sophmore at Mount Airy High School created our first Online Adoption Video. Thanks Allie for your hard work!
