My name is Dakota! I'm 5 years old and I weigh 47 lbs. I get along great with other dogs and children, including toddlers. I'm not sure about cats because the rescue doesn't have any. I rarely bark and I walk well on a leash. I also load right up into the car and I ride well. I'm well behaved in the house I don't get in the trash or try to dart out of an open door. I am pretty laid back and I have a medium to low energy range. I absolutely love being with my people and getting lots of back scratches and head rubs! I love to snuggle and I really enjoyed sleeping in my previous owner's bed.
I was surrendered to the rescue because my previous owner passed away. Her neighbor was kind enough to take me in until she could find a rescue because the family didn’t want me to going to chest drop me off at a high kill county animal shelter.
I am fostered in Danbury, North Carolina, but easy, affordable transportation is available.
