Hi! I'm Shaggy! My owner could no longer take care of me so I'm now looking for my new forever home! I just got a haircut and I'm looking like a stud! I'm quite the character and as close to perfect as a little dog can get! I'm approx. 1 year old and approx. 15 pounds(6/1). I'm extremely sweet, loving, friendly and playful. I'm well socialized and have never met a stranger. You'll see how wonderful and adorable I am in my video. I'm great with kids, cats and other dogs. I'm highly intelligent and mind well, inside and out. I'm house trained. I do good on a leash but tend to pull when I'm excited for a walk so I will need a harness instead of a collar. I love to play with the other dogs in my foster home. I also love when my foster mom plays and wrestles with me. I have a gentle and happy go lucky temperament. I always have a smile on my face. I really enjoy being petted and loved on. I hope to get a forever family that will treat me like the prince I am. I'm going to make someone a great furry companion. I'd be great with kids, elderly people, etc. I'm ready to learn new things and finally live the good life I so richly deserve! I'd love to be an exciting addition to your wonderful life! I'll provide the unconditional love and you can provide the belly rubs!

Adults are also sterilized and heartworm tested prior to placement. For more information/application visit our website at www.saveamuttkennel.info/ TRANSPORTATION TO THE NORTHEAST IS AVAILABLE. We go ahead and post them in hopes of them having a home ready and waiting for them to go, once their quarantine period is over. We also adopt into Canada. FAST, AFFORDABLE TRANSPORTATION IS AVAILABLE if needed along the eastern United States, SO PLEASE DON'T LET DISTANCE STOP YOU FROM ADOPTING! (courtesy

About CAROLINA CANINE RESCUE

About Our Rescue Group...We are a small nonprofit group. We rely only on our adoption fees to survive. We have been rescuing, vetting, and rehabilitating dogs and puppies since 2009. We take in dogs and puppies from our county kill shelter as well as abandoned and injured dogs and puppies, regardless of their age or any health issues. We do not turn any away due to health issues. We have taken in dogs with hearworms, mange, physical handicaps, injuries, severe malnutrition, etc. You name it, we've probably seen it! We get these pooches back to good health then begin our search for just the right home for this pet! One advantage we have over other rescues is that two of our volunteers are in wheelchairs, so many of our pooches are already used to being around individuals with special needs!

We also help individuals in our community rehearsal their pets if needed. When an individual agrees to allow us to rehome their puppies, we spay their mother dog for them free of charge.

We also offer low cost spay neuter transport service locally. We also recommend local and out of state spay neuter voucher programs as needed.

Come Meet Our Pets...We do hold adoption events at pet stores during the warmer months, however most of our adoptions are on line.

Our Adoption Process...We do require an adoption application and an adoption contract, which can be found on our website at carolinacaninerescuenc.com Adoption fees vary. You must be at least 20 yrs. of age to apply. You must have a vet reference for current or previous pets, or have a 2 good personal references (if you don't have a vet reference).

All of our available pets are rescued from NC and VA where the county animal shelters euthanize up to 100% of the animals. Many of the southern county shelters still euthanize with the gas chamber and by heart stick.

Each of our pets are quarantined for a minimum of 2 weeks before going to their new home to ensure health. Each pet is checked by our veterinarian and receives a certificate of health and is microchipped. All pets are given their age appropriate vaccinations and dewormed. Pets over 6 months of age are sterilized and heartworm checked. Veterinary records accompany each pet. (Our pets may be posted in more than one location in an effort to maximize exposure so we can get these fur babies adopted to make room for those pets waiting to be saved!) If for some reason your adoption isn't working out within the first 2 weeks, our rescue will take the pet back and refund your adoption fee. (We do make every effort to make sure the pet is a good match for your home before leaving the rescue, including speaking with the foster and watching their videos on our YouTube channel CCR923.) All of our pets are in foster homes. We do not have a facility.
